A few months ago I wrote an article on the Omni Hotels loyalty program. At the time I called it one of my favorite hotel rewards program in the country, if not my very favorite. I also disclosed the fact that they supplied the prize in a giveaway I had, but stressed that it in no way affected my review. I have had no problems letting sponsors know when I don’t like their product or experience. Today, I want to discuss their remarkable program again because they achieved what I thought was impossible, they improved it.
This is not a sponsored post either; I just really like their program and think that it can save travelers a lot of money. Ok, with all of that out of the way, let’s talk about why I love this program so much. As a review, some of the highlights of the Omni Select Guest loyalty program include:

• Free newspapers
• Turndown service
• On so on

These benefits are available as soon as you sign up for the free program, by the way. Frankly, they had me at “free internet.”
As I said though, they’ve managed to further refine and enhance the program through a unique initiative called the Global Hotel Alliance. This is a group of some of the best local and regional hotel brands in the world. Combined, they cover most of the planet with their upscale and well-situated properties. When you stay at any hotel in the alliance, you enjoy many of the same perks as you do at the Omni, including complimentary internet access and bottled water. As any international traveler will tell you, these are tremendous perks.
It gets better though, as you accumulate nights at any of their hotels, your status increases and you become eligible for a very unique perk – travel experiences. As someone who believes in the power of experiential travel, I love this feature. Let’s say you stay with Kempinski Hotels in Egypt. You can check your benefits online before arrival and, depending on your status, you could be eligible for a free hot air balloon ride over the pyramids or a desert safari just to name a couple of activities. In Portugal you can choose to go fishing on the Carvoeiro Coast or learn how to make local handicrafts. These unique, local experiences are available around the world.
I really have to applaud Omni not only for their loyalty program, but for offering guests these remarkable experiences while on vacation. Maximizing my travel dollar is key and I look for every way to get the most out of my travel investment. Free internet and travel experiences are a good way to guarantee my repeat business.
