A Visit To Ancient Petra, Jordan. Part II

Last time we started to show the wonderful pictures from Petra, Jordan.

From this peak there opens a view at the main street with an amthitheater and the outskirts.

In this places there is an altar or, to be more exact, what has remained of it.

The path to the altar goes from the beginning of the street with columns while the descent is from the opposite side of the mountain. That is why, in order to survive, one has to round the mountain from either side.

Cockerels may be seen on the way.

Royal tombs. It's the whole complex, cut out in the rocks of the sandstone. Their dimensions are not so large as the treasury and the monastery, impressive anyway though.

Occupation of those who do business in Petra corresponds to age and gender. Youngest boys and girls sell postcards, older boys offer donkeys when older girls sell souvenirs with sisters and mothers. Adult men ride tourists on camels and horses.

Knowledge of English help in a career too. This rule works not only in Petra but in all Jordan.
There are many cats here waiting for you to feed them with dates.

Modern garage?
